1960 Plymouth Belvedere - Faded White 2 door post sedan.
This may just be the coolest car I ever owned. Check out those tail fins! Maybe the biggest fins ever made or at least in the top 5. These pictures look much better than the car I owned. Also the car in the pictures was the top of the Plymouth line 2 door hardtop. Mine was a lowly 2 door pot sedan. It was one of my more frugal car purchases. bought this car from my friend Conrad's Dad or brother (I forget) for $15. It had a three speed stick on the column. Conrad and I used to walk to the deli, buy snacks, and go back and sit in the car and play chess. |
My most exciting day with this car was when I popped the clutch in the driveway and ran into the porch. The adrenaline was flowing! I managed to kick the brick post I damaged by laying down with my feet before my Mom and Dad came home from work. They never noticed the crack in the mortar. Phew! |
Of course I never drove this car on the street . I did not have my license yet. My Mom got real tired of looking at this monstrosity in our driveway and made me sell it. I sold it for $1 and was happy to get off so easy. Sigh, my first car. |
