1969 Mercury Cougar - Gold 2 door hardtop.
After the Batmobile the Cougar was a breath of fresh air. I did not have it very long but I had zero problems with it the time I had it. It had a 351 V8 and a three speed stick. It looked very good, It was actually a little bit fast, and drove very smoothly. Except for on thing, a very rusty floor pan. When I bought he car I did not bother to lift the trunk mat. if I had I would have been able to tell what color socks I was wearing that day. Large rust holes. I also found this problem under the interior rug. A real Flintstone mobile. I loved the name cougar, very macho, and I always really liked the 1967 and 1968 models. My 1969 was a close second. it had really nice lines that do not look dated in my eyes to this day. But the rust really bummed me out. Audios Cougar.... |
