1997 Toyota Camry - Gold 4 door post sedan.

This car was a gift from my Father In Law Al.  This was his third car he gifted to us.  He was a generous man.  Al used a car until it was all used up and then made a gift of it to someone in the family.  In this case this Camry had over 250.000 miles.  It was a tribute to Toyota that the Camry still ran mostly well and even the interior did not look all that worn for the miles.  While not very exciting this car was a quality piece.

Al gave this to us with the thought of it being my daughter Lauren's car to take to college.  But it worried me to let her drive this car 250 miles each way to Bard college.  And would be reliable enough not top let het down during those harsh NY winters.  So I adopted the gold Camry (Sweet justice?)  I would give her my Maxima which had only 125,000 miles.  I took it work the first day and all was fine.  The next morning however the driveway was full of oil.  Lots of oil.

I took it to a local shop.  It was fixable but did I want to sell it?  the repair shop felt this car had more life in it.  So I called Al and offered him the money.  He said no, put that money towards a better car for Lauren.  Thanks again Al!  And so I did and we ended up buying a new VW Jetta with heated seats!  Just the car for NY.

So long Camry, I hardly knew ya.  Welcome back Maxima for now at least.
